Know Your Numbers:  High Cholesterol:
Community Health Beat
Heart disease is the number one killer of men and women in the United States.  Each year, more than one million Americans have heart  attacks and 1/2 million die from heart disease. The higher your cholesterol, the greater your risk for developing heart disease or having a heart attack.  High cholesterol does not cause any symptoms, that's why it is important to know your numbers and take control

Megan Reid, APNP with Aurora Medical Center Summit's cardiology department will help you understand what cholesterol is and provide current management techniques including nutrition, exercise and statins.
