Name: Autumn on the Farms
Date: October 20, 2007 - October 21, 2007
Event Description:
Take part in the historic rituals of autumn just as our rural ancestors did in preparing for the arrival of winter long ago. On the farmsteads of Old World Wisconsin, see steam-powered sawmill, and pioneer harvesting demonstrations using teams of oxen and draft horses powering antique farm machinery. Stroll through farmhouses and village homes, enjoy an occasional food sample, and shop for some period goods in the crossroads village's Thomas General Store.

Location:
The Midwest’s largest outdoor museum of living history documents the settlement of 19th- and early 20th-century Wisconsin. It comprises an 1870s crossroads village and 10 ethnic farmsteads located on 576 acres of wooded hills in the Southern Unit of Kettle Moraine State Forest.
