Lasagna, Hot Dogs and Fun at John “Mitch” Mitcheltree Benefit

On the day before Thanksgiving, John "Mitch" Micheltree experienced a tragic accident when he fell from a ladder. His injuries were extensive, including multiple skull fractures which left him in a coma. Through the months, Mitch has been slowly healing, but his recovery will take many more months of care and therapy.  To help with medical expenses, friends of Mitch, Horter Chevrolet and Mama Mia's Italian restaurant are holding a benefit lunch (eat in or take out) on Sunday March 21, from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Park View Middle School in Mukwonago.  Meal choices are Mama Mia's famous lasagna lunch for $6.50, or a hot dog lunch for $3, and soda and juice will be available for purchase.   A bake sale, children's activities and silent auction are also planned for the event.

Previously a town of Vernon resident, Mitch has lived in Mukwonago for 15 years. He was working at Horter Chevrolet at the time of his accident, and has enjoyed tennis and golf for years. Mitch's big heart and warm smile makes him a dear friend to many people, and he has a soft spot for babies, children and animals. Mitch and his wife, Sue, have 6 grown children and 14 grandchildren, with a 15th grandchild due in July and a great grandchild due in August.

For tickets to the John "Mitch" Mitcheltree Benefit Lunch, please stop off at Horter Chevrolet in Mukwonago, at Brooklife Church in Clarendon Elementary in Mukwonago on Sunday mornings, or call 262-264-5957. Tickets will also be available at the door. Cash donations to the John Mitcheltree Fund are being accepted at Citizens Bank of Mukwonago.
