Name: Mukwonago Community Library- JumpBunch: Kooshie Ball
Date: May 3, 2017
Time: 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM CDT
Event Description:
The children will be introduced to skills involving a colorful and interestingly tactile Kooshie Ball! This ball, made of rubber strings, was created in 1986 for the inventor’s 5-year old daughter and 8-year old son to make holding, catching and throwing easier, it’s name reflecting the sound it makes when it lands! It is a great activity for developing hand/eye coordination and general team building skills.
After our usual opening huddle and warm-ups, the children will be able to experiment with the ball and get a feel for how it works by throwing, rolling and catching the ball. The children will work with a partner to throw and catch the ball back and forth without it falling to the ground. A Kooshie Ring will be added to the activity and the children will use this disc to balance the ball and bounce it back and forth.

The skills learned throughout class will be gross motor skills, general body coordination, hand-eye coordination, color matching skills and targeting skills. Recommended for families with young children.
